Get your free estimateHow much can a fence cost?
Your fence should fit your property, your priorities, and your budget. A small, straightforward fence and a full backyard privacy fence are very different projects, so a single average price rarely tells the whole story.
Your quote depends on the total length, fence height, material and style, number of gates, terrain, access to the yard, and whether an existing fence needs to be removed. Staining and other finishing details can also affect the total.
Every Geaux Cajun estimate is free. We come to your property, measure the job, talk through your options, and give you a clear price for your project before work begins. No guesswork—just a straight answer from a local crew.
Get a price for your fence →How long does a fence installation take?
Most fences we install take around 1–2 days once installation begins, depending on the size and scope of the job. We work fast, with careful attention to a solid build and a clean finish.
- Free on-site estimate. We visit your property, measure the space, and talk through what you need.
- Choose your style and materials. We help you decide on height, privacy, gates, and finish, then confirm the plan and installation schedule.
- Professional installation & a final walkthrough. Our crew gets to work, then walks the finished project with you to make sure everything is ready to enjoy.
The 1–2 days covers installation, not the wait for your scheduled start. Larger projects, old-fence removal, weather, and ground conditions can add time. We’ll explain the expected timeline for your job before we begin.
Should I get my wood fence stained?
If you want your wood fence to keep its rich color and fresh, finished look longer, staining is a smart choice. Unprotected wood naturally weathers in the sun and rain, turning gray and looking worn over time.
A quality exterior fence stain with UV protection helps slow that graying, while a water-repellent finish helps reduce moisture absorption. It brings out the wood’s character and adds protection against everyday exposure to Louisiana weather.
Stain is protection that needs upkeep. The wood should be properly prepared and dry enough for the product before application, and it will need recoating as the finish wears. Ask us about stain options and the right timing for your fence during your free estimate.
